Preview: Metropolitan Learning Center Dragons vs. Capital Prep Trailblazers
Metropolitan Learning Center is 0-5 against Capital Prep since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Metropolitan Learning Center Dragons will look to defend their home court against the Capital Prep Trailblazers at 6:00 p.m. Metropolitan Learning Center comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Tuesday, Metropolitan Learning Center lost to Bulkeley at home by a decisive 54-35 margin.
Meanwhile, Capital Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took down Academy of Aerospace and Engineering 80-62. The win was just what Capital Prep needed coming off of a 81-47 defeat in their prior match.
Capital Prep's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amare Cockfield, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Cockfield pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Malique Marshall, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds.
Metropolitan Learning Center's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Capital Prep, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7.
Metropolitan Learning Center was taken down by Capital Prep 93-50 in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Metropolitan Learning Center was down 48-19.
