Baseball Recap: Parker Takes a Loss

After soaring to 13 runs the game before, Parker was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (13-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They haven't had much luck with the Falcons recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Major Davis-Craig was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. He is becoming a predictor of Parker's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 4-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Je'Derrian Knox, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Parker's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Central, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

Coming up, Parker will head out on the road to challenge Homewood at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Parker is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Central, they will face off against Ramsay at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Central is facing Ramsay at the right time seeing as Ramsay is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
