Softball Recap: Vista Comes Up Short

Vista fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Classical Academy on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Caimans by a score of 12-10. The Panthers have struggled against the Caimans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Lexi Corcuera and Bella Mosley did some serious damage despite the final result: Corcuera went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Mosley went 3-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base. Mosley is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Arlo Murillo also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Vista's record now sits at 4-8. As for Classical Academy, their record is now 4-9.

Looking ahead, Vista will take on Hilltop at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Classical Academy, they will face off against Canyon Crest Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Caimans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ravens have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
