Softball Game Preview: Grover Cleveland Presidents vs. Townsend Harris Hawks

The Grover Cleveland Presidents will head out on the road to square off against the Townsend Harris Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Grover Cleveland's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.

Grover Cleveland came up short against Richmond Hill on Thursday, falling 25-10.

Meanwhile, Townsend Harris waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Beavers. Those five runs were actually the fewest the Hawks have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Townsend Harris' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games. As for Grover Cleveland, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Everything went Grover Cleveland's way against Townsend Harris when the teams last played back in April, as Grover Cleveland made off with a 25-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Presidents since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
