Softball Recap: Carter Green Hornets vs. Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals
It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Carter ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eagleton College & Career Academy Royals, sneaking past 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Green Hornets.
Hayden Neely spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on 12 hits.

On the hitting side, Addy Freeman was excellent, going 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Evans, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Carter picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Carter didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-7 victory against Northview Academy on the 24th. As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 16-1 win against Washburn on the 23rd.
