Baseball Recap: Liberty Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Liberty came out on top against Meridian on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run third inning. The Eagles walked away with an 8-4 win over the Mustangs. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Mustangs back in April, they had to take a 12-4 defeat.

Spencer Hinkle was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Laws, who earned one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Liberty's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12. As for Meridian, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Meridian has already played their next game (against Wakefield School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Liberty will be paying especially close attention to the Mustangs' matchup: after the Mustangs face off against the Fighting Owls, they'll take on Liberty again at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
