Basketball Recap: Silver Creek Raptors vs. Centaurus Warriors

Even though the Silver Creek Raptors have not done well against the Centaurus Warriors recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Silver Creek came out on top against the Warriors by a score of 44-35. The win made it back-to-back wins for Silver Creek.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silver Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Izzy Spagnoletti, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Waring, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Ingrid Lorton and Nadia Colacion certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Lorton dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, while Colacion scored eight points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 37.1% of Centaurus' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Silver Creek's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for Centaurus, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Creek will take on the Wizards at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Centaurus, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Tigers at 11:30 p.m. Holy Family will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
