It was a good run, but Salina Central unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Hutchinson Salthawks by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Salthawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 on October 4th.

Salina Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-18, 25-20.

Grace Ostmeyer paced Salina Central's offense, picking up 12 kills. Ostmeyer got some help from McKynlee Dunlap and her 16 assists. Katy Wagner controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Salina Central's defeat dropped their record down to 24-12. As for Hutchinson, their win bumped their record up to 23-13.

Salina Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hutchinson, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Maize South on the 25th.
