Basketball Recap: Eastside Takes a Loss

Eastside lost against Eustis back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eastside Rams took a 38-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eustis Panthers. The Rams' loss continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row.

Despite the defeat, Eastside saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jai'Vion Williams posted four points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of LeMarion Houston, who had six points and five rebounds.

Eustis' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cornelius Hines led the charge by putting up 12 points. Another player making a difference was Timothy Key, who put up ten points.

Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Eustis, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Eastside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-49 defeat against Newberry on the 8th. As for Eustis, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 52-51 win against South Lake on the 8th.
