Baseball Recap: Monrovia Extends Winning Streak to Four

Monrovia waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the West Covina Bulldogs by a score of 10-6.

Monrovia got a great performance from Alex Myers as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Myers has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Troy Grise was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Ellison, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Monrovia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive matches.

Monrovia's record now sits at 11-3. As for West Covina, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Monrovia has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against La Canada on the 27th. As for West Covina, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-1 loss against Montebello on the 26th.
