             Thomas A. Edison and Benjamin Franklin squared off in some playoff action  on Friday, but Thomas A. Edison had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Benjamin Franklin Electrons by a score of  56-54. One positive for the Owls, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
 Thomas A. Edison's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Cody Emanuel, who threw for 145 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.  Fortel Barker was  Emanuel's top target, picking up 109 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
 Benjamin Franklin had a senior duo take command as  Samir Smith rushed for 62 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries and  David Winchester picked up 88 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Smith is becoming a predictor of Benjamin Franklin's success: when he posts  at  least two  rushing touchdowns the team is 4-2 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).  Tyreese Nichols was in the mix  too, providing Benjamin Franklin with a touchdown.
 Thomas A. Edison has  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record  this season. As for Benjamin Franklin,  the  victory  got them back to even at 5-5.
