Basketball Recap: Weaver Extends Winning Streak to Three

Weaver had won two straight games and Nazier Wright did his part to make it three on Friday. The Beavers were the clear victors by a 73-48 margin over the Bulkeley Bulldogs with plenty of help from Wright, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 30 points along with five rebounds and three steals. He is becoming a predictor of Weaver's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is 9-3 (and 3-5 when he doesn't).

The team also got some help courtesy of Shawn Balkaran, who posted 17 points and seven boards. His big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Weaver's record now sits at 12-8. As for Bulkeley, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

As of now, neither Weaver nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
