Basketball Recap: Mya Bryant's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fredericktown over Africentric Early College

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fredericktown can now relate to. They fell 46-38 to the Africentric Early College Nubians on Saturday. The Freddies lost against the Nubians in their previous head to head back in February of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 86-7 score last time.

Several Freddies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mya Bryant, who posted eight points along with 12 rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave Bryant a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Cally Carpenter, who en route to 13 points.

Fredericktown's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Africentric Early College, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 18-7.

Fredericktown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Africentric Early College, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clear Fork at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Clear Fork will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Africentric Early College surely won't give up without a fight.
