Soccer Recap: Holmes Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last five matches, Holmes finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They lost 4-1 to the North Pitt Panthers. That makes it the first time this season Holmes have let down their home crowd.

Their goal came courtesy of Elvis Manzo-Pineda, who's now up to eight this season.

Holmes' loss dropped their record down to 4-3-1. As for North Pitt, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-1-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holmes will head out to challenge Nansemond-Suffolk Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for North Pitt, they will venture away from home to face off against Southside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
