Softball Recap: Tennessee Comes Up Short at Home Against Dobyns-Bennett

Tennessee unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Dobyns-Bennett Indians by a score of 1-0 on Friday. The Vikings have struggled against the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.

Carly Compton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 13 Ks.

Dobyns-Bennett now has a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Tennessee is headed away from home for the first time to challenge South-Doyle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dobyns-Bennett, they will take on Daniel Boone at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
