Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Salem). Their defense stepped up to hand the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces a 7-0 shutout on Monday. It was an even better day for Shelby Johnson as she scored three goals for her team.

With the victory, Salem broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-11. As for Mt. Carmel, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Salem has already played their next contest, a 5-0 win against Metro-East Lutheran on the 23rd. As for Mt. Carmel, they are taking a road trip to challenge Richland County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
