Softball Recap: Ballard Comes Up Short

Ballard lost a heartbreaker to Indianola when they met back in May of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. The Bombers took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Indians. The Bombers haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Ballard's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Indianola, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ballard will square off against Carlisle at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Bombers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Indianola, they will challenge Pella Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
