Softball Recap: DeKalb Barons vs. East Noble Knights
After flying high against New Haven on Monday, DeKalb came back down to earth. The Barons fell just short of the East Noble Knights by a score of 4-3 on Wednesday. The Barons haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.
Summer Haverstock spent all 13 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, Serena Wineland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-6 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Storck, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases and one run.
DeKalb's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for East Noble, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.
