Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Alivia Elgin and Addison Nelson Lead Hillcrest to Victory + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Hillcrest, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They skirted past the Mauldin Mavericks 3-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in August.

The win didn't come easy: Mauldin scored at least 13 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-20, 23-25, 23-25, 15-13.

Leading Hillcrest to victory were Addison Nelson and Alivia Elgin. Nelson had 24 digs and nine assists, while Elgin had 13 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Elgin a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Hillcrest was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Hillcrest's record is now 14-4. As for Mauldin, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Hillcrest will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenwood at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mauldin, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Dorman on the 26th.
