Softball Recap: Blackfoot Extends Winning Streak to Three

Blackfoot won the last time they faced Shelley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Broncos walked away with a 13-9 victory over the Russets. The win was familiar territory for the Broncos, who have now won three contests in a row.

Brianna Reynolds made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up five earned (and four unearned) runs off 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Blackfoot got a massive performance out of Berkley Moore, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those RBI were Moore's first of the season. Emma McGuire was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Blackfoot kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive matches.

Blackfoot's record is now 11-2. As for Shelley, they moved to 10-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Blackfoot will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Russets: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
