Volleyball Recap: Smith Center Takes a Loss

Smith Center lost against Great Bend back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Redmen took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Smith Center was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21.

Despite the loss, Smith Center still got an impressive performance from Lillie Heiland, who had 23 digs and one assist.

Smith Center's defeat dropped their record down to 18-14. As for Great Bend, they have been performing well recently as they've won 15 of their last 20 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season.

Smith Center wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Phillipsburg on the 14th. As for Great Bend, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Hays at 9:00 a.m.
