After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wetumpka, Stanhope Elmore was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Percy Julian Phoenix a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Mustangs have won six games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory snapped Stanhope Elmore's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-13 record. As for Percy Julian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Looking ahead, Stanhope Elmore will head out on the road to take on Chilton County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Percy Julian, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Park Crossing at 5:00 p.m. The Thunderbirds have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.25 runs per game on average), something the Phoenix will no doubt try to take advantage of.
