Recap: Garinger Wildcats vs. South Pointe Stallions
The Garinger Wildcats suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 72-16 loss at the hands of South Pointe. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Garinger has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Garinger struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
It was another big night for Victoria Morris, who scored 21 points along with two steals for South Pointe. Morris is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleigh Lucas, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Garinger's defeat dropped their record down to 11-6. As for South Pointe, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 17-2.
Garinger will head out on the road to take on Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. South Pointe will take on York at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. York will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 198th, while South Pointe is ranked third).
