Basketball Game Preview: Riverview Sarasota Rams vs. Sarasota Christian Blazers

The Riverview Sarasota Rams will venture away from home to challenge the Sarasota Christian Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverview Sarasota knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Sarasota Christian likes a good challenge.

Riverview Sarasota easily dispatched Venice on Monday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Riverview Sarasota will have to contain Ben Milliken as he made an impact in Sarasota Christian's last game. He posted 18 points and six boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Spenn, who scored six points.

Even though they lost, Sarasota Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Sarasota Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 13-11. As for Riverview Sarasota, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 13-11.

Everything came up roses for Riverview Sarasota against Sarasota Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 70-40 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Riverview Sarasota since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
