Volleyball Recap: Van Buren's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Van Buren came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Riverdale Falcons. The Black Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Falcons, too.

Van Buren was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 19-25, 25-16, 25-16.

Leading Van Buren to victory were Lily Grine and Brooklyn Wilkin. Grine had 11 digs, while Wilkin had 22 kills, five digs, four aces, and one block. That's the most aces Wilkin has posted over her last eight games.

They weren't the only good server: Van Buren was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in three consecutive contests.

Van Buren's record now sits at 9-2. As for Riverdale, they dropped their record down to 5-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Van Buren will host Arlington at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Riverdale, they will take on Hardin Northern at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
