Softball Recap: Dublin Jerome Comes Up Short

Dublin Jerome extended their losing streak to nine on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-10. They lost 13-3 to the Olentangy Braves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-1 last Monday.

As for Olentangy, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-3. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won seven contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Olentangy's part, Hannah Mayle was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three runs gave Mayle a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Taylor (Murray State), who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dublin Jerome is set to face off against their familiar foe Thomas Worthington at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Olentangy will challenge rival Hilliard Darby at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
