Recap: Hobgood Charter Raiders vs. Mattamuskeet Lakers

The Hobgood Charter Raiders had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They really took it to Mattamuskeet for the full four quarters, racking up a 37-5 victory at home. Hobgood Charter has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 32 points or more this season.

Janiya Blanding continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Emma Rae Cannon was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.

Despite the defeat, Mattamuskeet had strong showings from Kensley Cox, who scored three points along with 11 rebounds and two steals, and ANGIE MENDOZA, who scored two points along with five rebounds and three steals. That was a full 60% of Mattamuskeet's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Mattamuskeet struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Hobgood Charter posted eight assists.

The win got Hobgood Charter back to even at 4-4. As for Mattamuskeet, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.
