Basketball Recap: Sutton Takes a Loss

Sutton suffered their closest defeat since February 24, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of the Blackstone-Millville Chargers by a score of 33-31. The Sammies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Blackstone-Millville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalia Morais, who posted 13 points. That makes it four consecutive games in which Morais has scored at least a third of Blackstone-Millville's points. Another player making a difference was Marren Berry, who earned nine points.

Sutton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Blackstone-Millville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sutton will welcome Whitinsville Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Blackstone-Millville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Nipmuc Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
