Recap: Metro Tech Knights vs. North Canyon Rattlers
The Metro Tech Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against North Canyon, falling 75-32. Metro Tech has struggled against North Canyon recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Metro Tech lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Yahir Monroy, who scored nine points along with two steals. Monroy is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Ace Zambrano was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Metro Tech's loss was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-20. As for North Canyon, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-7.
Metro Tech will head out on the road to face off against South Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for North Canyon, North Canyon and Gila Ridge will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Gila Ridge knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight games -- so hopefully North Canyon likes a good challenge.
