Basketball Recap: North Comes Up Short

North managed to keep up with Shaker Heights until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The North Vikings lost 68-45 to the Shaker Heights Red Raiders. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, North still got an impressive performance from Ce'Airah Underwood, who posted 27 points. That was a full 60% of North's points, marking the ninth time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Armonie Lewis, who earned nine points.

North's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Shaker Heights, their win ended an 18-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Firestone at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shaker Heights, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Mentor at 6:00 p.m. Mentor will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Shaker Heights surely won't give up without a fight.
