Volleyball Recap: Academy of the Pacific Rim Find Success

Academy of the Pacific Rim sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Blackstone-Millville Chargers on Tuesday.

Academy of the Pacific Rim was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-18, 19-25, 25-17, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Blackstone-Millville still got an impressive performance from Brenna Kotsianas, who had nine assists and eight aces. With that strong performance, Kotsianas is now averaging an impressive 2.4 aces per game. Alyssa Millette was another key player, getting five kills and four aces.

Academy of the Pacific Rim's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Blackstone-Millville, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.

Coincidentally, Academy of the Pacific Rim and Blackstone-Millville will both be playing Foxborough Regional Charter the next time they take the court. Blackstone-Millville will host Foxborough Regional Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Academy of the Pacific Rim will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
