Softball Recap: Dwight Trojans vs. Putnam County Panthers
Dwight fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Putnam County on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 9-8. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 8-3.

Madi Ely was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She struck out 14 batters over 7.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and seven unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Taylor Frobish was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Mia Franklin, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
