Baseball Recap: Hillsborough Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Hillsborough's offense. They fell just short of the King Lions by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Terriers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Adriano Parral was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over 5.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Hillsborough's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for King, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-11.

Hillsborough has already played their next contest, a 12-0 loss against Steinbrenner on the 29th. As for King, they will face off against Chamberlain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chamberlain has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.65 runs per game on average), something King will no doubt try to take advantage of.
