Recap: John Milledge Academy Trojans vs. Pinewood Christian Patriots

The John Milledge Academy Trojans had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They breezed by Pinewood Christian at home to the tune of 63-28. The victory was just business as usual for John Milledge Academy, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.

Javian Butts was his usual excellent self, rushing for 284 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Butts hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Kolt McMichael, who threw for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to John Milledge Academy's defense and their four sacks. In that department, Keontae Whipple was the leader with two sacks.

Pinewood Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Banks Booth, who threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns, and Jake Rogers who picked up 208 receiving yards and a touchdown.

John Milledge Academy's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.29 points. As for Pinewood Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

John Milledge Academy has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Valwood at 8:00 p.m. on November 30th. Valwood is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Pinewood Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
