Clara Groen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Kate Harris was incredible, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 3-for-4. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. Chloe Paryaski also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Plymouth Christian Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lutheran Northwest struck out seven times.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Tuesday. Southfield Christian fell just short of Parkway Christian by a score of 19-18.
Chloe Schoon was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off three home runs, eight RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Scarlett Voytal, who scored four runs and stole seven bases while going 3-for-4.
Plymouth Christian Academy's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-4. As for Southfield Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Everything went Plymouth Christian Academy's way against Southfield Christian when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Plymouth Christian Academy made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plymouth Christian Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
