Basketball Game Preview: Rancho Verde Mustangs vs. Hillcrest Trojans

The Rancho Verde Mustangs will challenge the Hillcrest Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Rancho Verde's tournament run continued when they took on San Diego on Saturday. Rancho Verde was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 54-53 to San Diego.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest beat Valley View 55-47 on Thursday. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Eagles are ranked 992nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Rancho Verde's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Hillcrest, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 19-6.

Everything went Rancho Verde's way against Hillcrest when the teams last played on January 9th, as Rancho Verde made off with a 62-38 win. Does Rancho Verde have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hillcrest turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
