Baseball Recap: Scott County Central Braves vs. Clarkton Reindeer
Scott County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-4 to the Clarkton Reindeer. The Braves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Reindeer from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.
Kayden Ballew put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Ballew was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Ballew wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was T.C. Carlisle Jr., who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Another was Kavonte Thatch, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases.
Scott County Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Clarkton, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8.
Looking ahead, Scott County Central will welcome Delta at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarkton, they will venture away from home to face off against South Pemiscot at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
