Softball Recap: Rainier Beach Vikings vs. Cleveland Eagles
Rainier Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-12 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cleveland Eagles. The Vikings were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 18-16.
Tameyah Maxie and Sema'J Duncan stepped up to the plate in a big way. Maxie got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs, while Duncan got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Christine Paul, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Rainier Beach's record is now 2-8. As for Cleveland, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.
We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Rainier Beach is set to square off against their familiar foe Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Cleveland will challenge rival Chief Sealth at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
