Orange County hadn't done well against Albemarle recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Orange County Fighting Hornets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Albemarle Patriots, sneaking past 50-48. The victory was nothing new for the Fighting Hornets as they're now sitting on four straight.

Orange County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laney Fayard, who posted eight points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Orange County is undefeated when Fayard posts three or more steals, but 5-8 otherwise. Chloe Hebert was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards.

Orange County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-8. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points over those games. As for Albemarle, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season.
