Baseball Recap: Stebbins Comes Up Short

Stebbins extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 6-10 in the process. They lost 15-4 to the Tippecanoe Red Devils. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-0 on Thursday.

As for Tippecanoe, the win keeps they at an undefeated 18-0. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

For Tippecanoe's part, Anderson McKinney looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. McKinney has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Preston Zumwalt, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Drew Husic, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stebbins will challenge Butler at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Tippecanoe, they will square off against Lebanon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
