Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Academy of International Studies + How To Watch

Academy of International Studies hadn't done well against Academy of Aerospace and Engineering recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Dragons came out on top against the Jets by a score of 3-1. The win was nothing new for the Dragons as they're now sitting on three straight.

Academy of International Studies had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-18, 25-11, 25-17.

Academy of International Studies got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Fumnanya Ben-Ihieme out in front who had 14 digs and two aces. Angie Zuluaga- Gonzalez was another key player, getting 39 digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Academy of International Studies was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 27 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 13 aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Academy of International Studies' win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Academy of Aerospace and Engineering, their loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Academy of International Studies will square off against East Windsor at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Academy of Aerospace and Engineering does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
