Softball Recap: Northside Christian Academy's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Northside Christian Academy dropped their record down to 10-2-1 on Monday, which also ended the team's seven-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They fell just short of the First Christian Lions by a score of 8-6. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against First Christian this season, with their most recent defeat being a 11-2 loss on Monday.

As for First Christian, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games.

For First Christian's part, Victoria Loehr spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up ten Ks. Loehr has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Corie Wheeler was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

As of now, neither Northside Christian Academy nor First Christian have any future games scheduled.
