Football Game Preview: Northeastern Eagles vs. Whiteville Wolfpack

Northeastern is on a 19-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Whiteville is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Northeastern Eagles will square off against the Whiteville Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Northeastern knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past 11 contests -- so hopefully Whiteville likes a good challenge.

Northeastern is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They took down James Kenan 46-28.

It was another big night for Ty'Jae Simpson, who rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries.

Meanwhile, Whiteville won against Eastern Wayne last Friday with 48 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Whiteville blew past Kinston, posting a 48-21 win. Considering the Wolfpack have won ten games by more than 26 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Whiteville's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Northeastern, their win bumped their record up to 14-0.

Northeastern came out on top in a nail-biter against Whiteville in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, sneaking past 17-14. Will Northeastern repeat their success, or does Whiteville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
