Volleyball Recap: Dunnellon Falls to South Sumter in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Dunnellon had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of the South Sumter Raiders by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it nine in a row.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Dunnellon sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 17-25, 25-19, 26-28, 15-10.

When it comes to explaining why Dunnellon lost, don't look at Keilyn Collazo. Despite the final result, she had six aces and five digs. Another player making a difference was Rylan Tompkins, who had ten digs and three aces.

The win got South Sumter back to even at 1-1.

Coming up, Dunnellon will head out to face off against Lake Weir at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The contest will give the Tigers their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for South Sumter, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Weeki Wachee at 7:00 p.m.
