Soccer Recap: Northern Durham Comes Up Short

Despite a strong season so far, Northern Durham has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hillside Hornets on Thursday. If Northern Durham were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to Hillside when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mayra Valladares wasn't going to let Hillside walk away unscathed as she scored both of Northern Durham's goals, bringing her season total up to six goals.

Northern Durham's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Hillside, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season.

Northern Durham wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against South Granville on the 14th. As for Hillside, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-0 loss against East Chapel Hill on the 15th.
