Softball Recap: South Iredell Has No Trouble Against Bandys

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when South Iredell and Bandys meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. Everything went the South Iredell Vikings' way against the Bandys Trojans as the South Iredell Vikings made off with an 8-2 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Vikings have posted against the Trojans since April 27, 2016.

Addison Trego spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on six hits.

On the hitting side, Caroline Constable was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Carsyn Benfield, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

South Iredell's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Bandys, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2.

South Iredell has already played their next contest, a 16-1 win against West Iredell on the 28th. As for Bandys, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-3 loss against North Lincoln on the 28th.
