Basketball Recap: Bismarck Takes a Loss

Bismarck lost against St. Paul Lutheran back in December of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bismarck Indians took a 53-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Paul Lutheran Giants.

St. Paul Lutheran was led to victory by Brooklyn Weibrecht and Reece Welier. Weibrecht dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds, while Welier almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Welier a new career-high in rebounds.

Bismarck's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-11. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Bismarck does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Paul Lutheran, they have already played their next match, a 59-28 defeat against St. Vincent on the 4th.
