Volleyball Recap: Word of God Academy Comes Up Short on the Road Against Shreveport Homeschool Sports

Word of God Academy kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against Shreveport HomeSchool Sports, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 16 in a row.

Despite the defeat, Word of God Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kallie Pizarro had 16 digs and three aces.

The win got Shreveport HomeSchool Sports back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Word of God Academy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Harleton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Shreveport HomeSchool Sports, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bishop Noland Episcopal Day at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
