Softball Recap: Williamsville North Comes Up Short

Williamsville North entered their contest against Williamsville East on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Spartans fell just short of the Flames by a score of 9-7. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Lily Tierney made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. JuJu Bainbridge also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Williamsville North's defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Williamsville East, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Looking ahead, Williamsville North will venture away from home to square off against Starpoint at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Starpoint will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Williamsville North surely won't give up without a fight. Williamsville East has already played their next matchup (against Non Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
