It was a proper cat-fight when Deshler took on Brooks on Friday. The Tigers strolled past the Lions with points to spare, taking the game 27-13. The Tigers' win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Price Thornton produced another solid effort rushing for 142 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 271 yards and one TD.

Deshler didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Brooks to a completion percentage of just 44.4%. The Tigers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 71.4%.

Deshler didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kendrick Gunn.

Deshler's record is now 7-0. As for Brooks, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Deshler will venture away from home to face off against West Limestone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 34.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Brooks, they are taking a road trip to square off against Lexington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
